I­ Can Walk Again

Her (name withheld) wound seemed incurable, the pain unbearable; she could not stand or walk. She had Buruli Ulcers, a flesh eating bug that causes tissue death and can even infect the bone. She had visited many hospitals and health workers, including traditional healers.Willie, Gathering Together’s Administrator, on a visit to her home, recognized the similarity between the wound she had and wounds Lara had been treating during her stay in July 2017, in the village of SackieGbomah. He spoke to Augustine, the new Medical Coordinator for Gathering Together – Liberia. Augustine began to visit her and provide treatment with great love and due diligence. She can walk again.

With gratitude the lady made the arduous road trip, enduring great pain in her legs to attend Augustine’s wedding held in December 2017.
